一、 基本情况

　　加拿大教育由各省负责，联邦政府不设教育部。由于加拿大地域广阔，各省之间经济发展水平也略有差别, 各省建立了适合自身发展、相对独立的教育体制。总体上，加拿大高等教育一直保持着较高的水准和良好的国际口碑，每年吸引众多海外学子前来求学和深造。

　　随着中国与国际接轨的不断成熟，很多的家长希望孩子能出国留学，接受国际化的教育，锻炼独立自信的性格摆脱独生子女的依赖、毕业后无论留在国外还是回国都会有更好的发展。加拿大以高含金量的教育、稳定和谐的社会环境成为留学热门国家之一。目前，在加拿大以公司形式注册的私立学校数以千计，其专业、学科设置和教师资格等方面尚无有效监控。因此，中国学生在申请这些私立学校时，需要十分谨慎。

　　据加拿大教育中心中国项目办公室负责人Lily介绍，加拿大政府认可的高等教育机构分为大学（University）和学院（College）等。加拿大大学绝大多数是公立大学，攻读本科一般需要3－4年，硕士研究生需要1－2年；博士研究生需要3年。学院侧重培养应用性专业技术人才，一般期限为2至3年。该类学校一般提供大专文凭与各种证书，不颁发学位，但可以选择一些以后可转读大学深造的课程，学制为1至2年，学完后可转入正规大学二、三年级继续攻读本科课程

　　加拿大教育中心（Canadian Education Centre Network，简称CEC）总部位于加拿大温哥华，有近三百所会员学校。加拿大教育中心原来在加拿大使馆办公，现与北京艾迪国际合作成立了加拿大教育中心中国项目办公室，成为该中心设立在中国的唯一办公室。作为一家非营利机构，CEC在加拿大所有学校和各国使领馆享有极高的声誉，并与加拿大驻中国使馆保持密切良好的合作关系，因此，我们不仅可以第一时间得到使馆最新制定的留学政策和信息，同时也是加拿大使馆认可的加拿大教育在华最重要的推广机构和加拿大使馆网站唯一链接教育机构。
